Just wanted to check in with others who have dealt with dc cdi setups, its a 250 and after some wiring headaches, the engine is finally running solid with a dc cdi. I was originally chasing a no spark issue and turns out the stator wasn't putting out enough juice for an AC box so in a brief eureka moment I thought to swapp in a proper dc cdi and wired it up to a dedicated 12V feed, and boom, she fired right up.
So If anyone wants to mess around with cdi swaps on these motors, I can confirm the DC route works fine as long as your battery and wiring are up to the task.
